Church Life

As well as our Sunday services there are lots of activities, groups and ministries going on during the week at St Catharine's church that you can be part of. Click on one of the links below to find out more.

Life Groups

Our life groups are a great place to get to know other people in the church in a deeper way. They are a place where you can explore and dig deeper into God's word, seeking to apply it to our lives. They are a place where we care and support one another in the ups and downs of life. They are places of hospitality, safety and community.

To join our Tuesday group contact Steve & Johanna.

To join out Wednesday group contact Richard & Fran.

Practical Care

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5.16

Jesus calls his people to love their neighbour and care for those in need and the early church was known for its sacrificial love and care of others. Of course there are many ways to express such love and care, but it may be helpful to know ways in which you can get involved. Our practical care team offers help with the following:

  • everyday tasks such as gardening

  • transportation to appointments

  • food provision

  • arranging professional tradesmen to visit

  • linking up with charities who can help further

  • financial assistance in times of emergency

Download the flyer below for more details.

If you would like to arrange some practical care for yourself or anyone else, please contact our practical care team leader by using the form, or clicking on the icons below.

Growing Faith

We envision children, young people and households coming to faith, growing in their faith and contributing confidently to church life. We see the importance of joining up our work with children and young people in schools, church and the home. This is our growing faith ministry.

Lunch at Home

At Home

We actively support parents as they disciple their children and young people through resources, conferences and courses.

Year 4 class sat in school hall being spoken to by Growing Faith Minister.

In School

We work across a number of schools in the Vines Academy Trust. Our Growing Faith Minister has varying roles across the schools including governance, developing christian ethos, demonstrating good RE teaching, and leading worship.

In Church

We encourage all our children and young people to serve in one of our ministry teams. They are not just the church's future, but they ARE gifted members of our church today. We help them grow through age appropriate teaching during our 10:30 service sermon.

Ministry Teams

Serving is a great way to love and get involved in our Church family. It's also a great way to grow as a Christian. Each person has been given gifts to serve God with and every person is needed so we can function as a loving community. To get involved just contact one of the team leaders who can provide you with more information.

Got questions?

People had all sorts of questions for Jesus Christ. If you would like to know more about Jesus Christ you're welcome at St Catharine's. We want to hear your questions, listen to your story and help you see why we believe living a life for Jesus is the best thing you can do. If you're looking for a place to explore with others please do join us on one of our courses (run twice a year) hosted either in the local pub or someone's home. Fill out the contact form here.
